However, the writer has not always been good with writing, the pronunciation of words, or the subject of English in general. In her memoir, she discusses the impact of mental health on her family going back as far as her grandparents; her paternal grandfather, who was an abusive alcoholic believed to be suffering from PTSD, and maternal grandmother, who was an alcoholic narcissist. Patrice's Literary Meet & Greet: Meet Aquintas "Quint" Jones

Image
Reading her first novel Get Up & Get Out Your Own Way , had me wondering who in the world is Quint Jones. Now after reading her second novel called Overcoming the Mask: Something Had to Break ,  I know that the world deserves to know her better.  So everyone meet AQUINTAS "QUINT" JONES.      Aquintas "Quint" Jones was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT to a single parent home. Her  mother, Gwendolyn Jones raised me. Her father had his own issues and could not be there for me, but she had an uncle stepped in as a father. Jones is mother herself of 2 beautiful daughters and a grandmother of 3. She is an Author, an Evangelist, A Certified Life Coach, A Podcast Host and The Founder of My Life Has Destiny Corp. Needless to say she is also a Domestic Violence Advocate.  What is the most surprising thing you discovered while writing your book(s)?            The most surprising thing I discovered about writing this book was that I wasn't completely healed from the lo

Book Review Alert: Overcoming the Mask: Something Had to Break

Book Review Alert: Overcoming the Mask: Something Had to Break Author: Aquintas Jones Published: February 20, 2021 Publisher: Independently Published ISBN-13: 979-8705624614 ASIN: B08Y4T6XR2 Rating: 3.5 stars Enter the life of Aqunitas Jones. What a life it has been for her. The book takes the reader on the journey through her life to where she is right now. The life of Jones has been that of many trials from being sexually assaulted at a young age by one of her mother’s “friends” to being abused by her husband. Overcoming is a great word for this novel. She was loved by her aunt and uncle, who to me seems to be the only “family” she had in the beginning. Survival is a trait the Aquintas adapted at a young age as the reader can see in this novel. From when she heard the arguments and cries that would happen between her mother and father. The point of the book that affected  me the most as a reader was the death of Kevin. As she described the death of Kevin, my heart went out to her.

While vacationing, the ladies met three brothers of the island; Jake, Phillip and Ethan. There was an instant attraction between Violet and Ethan that would lead to much more; a whirlwind romance and unexpected circumstances surrounding their connection to the ocean. Book Review Alert: wPower: The Strength of an Empowered Woman to Change the World  Author: Felicha Sinegar- Stanley Published: February 12, 2020 Publisher: Independently Published ISBN-13: 978-1087866260 ASIN: B084RVD6XD Rating: 4 stars If I had to give this book one word summary, that word would be strength. This book is an oath to Girl Power. Sinegar-Stanley guides a woman to a point where she can see excellence in her and other women around her. She gives readers great examples for each point in her book. She gives examples of women whom you would consider to be empowered; women that you can look up to. A book that is great with the age that we are living in today seeing that we have our first female and African American Vice President.  This book would go great with a journal that is designated for a woman’s goals and dreams. I will have to say that this book made me think of creative ways to encourage and to empower women that I see on an everyday basis. In some cases, I did not k
